About ARTstor

ARTstor’s mission is to work with the international community to build an online image library and to use digital technology to enhance teaching and research. Initiated by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in 2001, ARTstor has been an independent nonprofit organization since 2003 and a live service since July 2004.

About the Digital Library

The ARTstor Digital Library makes available more than 1.5 million images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences from outstanding museums, photo archives, photographers, scholars, and artists. Today, 1,500 educational institutions and museums in more than 40 countries conduct their teaching, research, and scholarship with our high-resolution images and sophisticated online workspace and tools.
