When cataloging in Shared Shelf, you may sometimes want to include a URL in your data. For example, it may be useful for your data record to include a link to your library catalog, an object’s repository, or perhaps to the source of some of your cataloging information.
Perhaps you’ve tried it, but the link is not clickable? Here’s how to do it properly: Enter a URL in a published record in a text or text-area field by itself, without any other data. The field where you enter the URL doesn’t need to be a default Shared Shelf field, but it must be mapped to a default field in the Artstor Workspace or Shared Shelf Commons (you can map it to a default Artstor field where other fields are mapped).
Note that if you use prepends (also called prefixes) when mapping your target fields, the URL will be visible but not clickable:
