Library Relations Account Manager Jen Hoyer is moderating Opening Open Access: Exposing Digital Images Collections with Ease. This panel will investigate the open access initiatives of three higher education institutions that are publishing digital media collections to various open access platforms, including Omeka, The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA), and Shared Shelf Commons.

Speakers include Jane Carlin, University of Puget Sound Library; Camilla MacKay, Carpenter Library at Bryn Mawr College; and Gregg Silvis, University of Delaware Library.

Colleen Hunter, our Director of Account Management for North America, will be discussing Shared Shelf as part of Charleston’s short series of vendor presentations. Learn how institutions are using Shared Shelf to make their digital collections more accessible and discoverable for faculty, students, and the broader Internet community. Shared Shelf ensures that multimedia collections are safe, well-managed, and deliverable in exactly the way that faculty and students need them to be.

Artstor/Shared Shelf staff is attending the Charleston Conference. Drop by table 75 on Wednesday, November 6, 10 AM-6 PM, to find out what’s new (there’s a lot). That same day, Katie O’Connell, Artstor User Services Associate, will moderate “From Accession to Access: Opening Collections through the Digital Public Library of America” from noon to 12:30 PM. Speakers will be Artstor Collection Development Manager Ian McDermott and Camilla MacKay, head of the Rhys Carpenter Library, Scholarly Communications librarian, and editor of the Bryn Mawr Classical Review.
